Space Trail

Space Trail is an interactive educational tool that supports children's spatial intelligence through embodied cognition. Children translate physical movements into digital art by moving a physical rocket with a PSP controller, merging tangible interaction with digital output. This exercise strengthens spatial awareness by encouraging them to visualize how 3D space would map to a 2D plane.

The technical implementation involved creating a drawing program in Processing, which communicated via serial connection with an Arduino circuit that powered the rocket's motors, tracked the rocket’s movements and processed PSP controller inputs.

Space Trail was presented at a virtual forum from the NYUAD Interactive Media Program, where it showed possibilities for further exploration in collaborative gameplay and teamwork-based spatial exercises.
